LEADMAPS FOR FREELANCERS

Keep your next-client research organized.

When you work for yourself, finding the next client competes with doing the work you already have. Whether you design, write, develop websites, manage marketing or consult, a focused business list gives you somewhere to start your research and keep track of what you learn.

A practical workflow

  1. Choose a service and a market

Start with a business category and location that fit your services. A designer might research restaurants in one city; a consultant might start with another industry. A listing is a research starting point, not evidence that the business needs or wants your service.

  2. Collect the details you can use

Include available website, phone, email or social details. Require a field only when it is essential, and review the maximum credit charge before starting. Optional contact details may be missing, and strict requirements can reduce the output.

  3. Do the personal research

Open the source listing and business website, check whether your work is relevant and record specific observations in notes. Keep prospects in a list and update their status when you review or contact them. LeadMaps does not automatically send outreach.

  4. Keep the list useful

Return to saved records as your research develops, or export a filtered view or selected records to Excel, CSV or JSON. Re-exporting saved results uses no collection credits. You can also use the same workflow when building a business list for a client.

Before you use the list

Collected businesses are not guaranteed clients. Available contact details are not verified emails or permission to send marketing. LeadMaps supports your research and organization; it does not promise replies, projects or revenue.

Keep the handoff clear.

Use the export guide for file handoffs, or the virtual assistant workflow when a client has supplied a specific list-building brief.
